French choreographer Thierry Thieû Niang is back to Brooklyn for a free summer workshop open to professional and non-professional from all ages.

Thierry Thieû Niang, known for his innovative and inclusive approach to choreography, will guide you through an immersive experience that combines technical training, improvisation, and collaborative creation. With his extensive expertise and infectious enthusiasm, Thierry will inspire you to embrace your unique artistic voice and discover new horizons within yourself.
Over the course of the workshop, you will engage in a variety of exercises and exploratory tasks that encourage self-expression, body awareness, and emotional connection. Through the fusion of contemporary dance techniques and Thierry’s signature movement vocabulary, you will embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and artistic growth.
Thierry Thieû Niang is a dancer and choreographer. Alongside his creative career, he initiates choreographic research workshops for professionals, amateurs, children, teenagers, adults, seniors, individuals with autism, and detainees. As an Officer of Arts and Letters, laureate of the Villa Médicis Hors les Murs, the UNESCO-Aschberg Foundation, and the SACD Choreographer Award, he collaborates with art schools, higher conservatories of dramatic and choreographic art, community associations, hospitals, and prisons in various cities in France and abroad. In the new 23/24 season, he collaborates with different directors, choreographers, actors, and musicians for shared creations. He is also invited to perform at MC93 in Bobigny, the Fratellini Academy in Saint-Denis, the Chamber Orchestra and the Philharmonie in Paris, the Saint-Jean-de-Dieu Psychiatric Hospital and the Maison de la Danse in Lyon, the CDN Theater in Lorient, the Theater les amandiers in Nanterre, the Centro de Artes da Maré (CAM) in Rio de Janeiro, and at The Invisible Dog Art Center in New York.
